Whitney Marsh's story began with a battle against time and pancreatic cancer.
Diagnosed at the age of 41, she faced the disease head-on. She was scheduled for surgery, filled with hope, but the day before surgery, a CT scan shattered that hope by revealing the cancer had spread.
Despite this devastating news, Whitney didn't give up. She continued her life with vigor, running 8-10 miles or biking 30-40 miles each day, even while restarting chemotherapy. Her determination was a testament to her spirit, but pancreatic cancer proved relentless. Only four months after the CT scan, on November 1, 2018, Whitney Marsh passed away.
Her story is a poignant reminder of the deadly nature of pancreatic cancer, where the five-year survival rate lingers at just 12%, showing little improvement over the last 50 years. Whitney's experience highlights the critical need for advancements in early diagnosis and treatment options.
