What is pancreatic cancer?

Pancreatic cancer starts in the pancreas and is one of the deadliest cancers because symptoms often don't appear until it has spread. The 5-year survival rate is just 12%, and 74% of patients die within one year of diagnosis.

Early detection is critical—knowing the warning signs can save your life.

Whitney Marsh

Always for Whitney

Whitney Marsh's story began with a battle against time and pancreatic cancer.

Diagnosed at the age of 41, she faced the disease head-on. She was scheduled for surgery, filled with hope, but the day before surgery, a CT scan shattered that hope by revealing the cancer had spread.

Despite this devastating news, Whitney didn't give up. She continued her life with vigor, running 8-10 miles or biking 30-40 miles each day, even while restarting chemotherapy. Her determination was a testament to her spirit, but pancreatic cancer proved relentless. Only four months after the CT scan, on November 1, 2018, Whitney Marsh passed away.

Her story is a poignant reminder of the deadly nature of pancreatic cancer, where the five-year survival rate lingers at just 12%, showing little improvement over the last 50 years. Whitney's experience highlights the critical need for advancements in early diagnosis and treatment options. Her legacy lives on through initiatives aimed at combating this disease, ensuring her fight wasn't in vain. From then on, we decided that it was…
