Whitney Marsh Foundation Launches Arkansas Patient Fund with MD Anderson
Supporting GI cancer patients with travel assistance starting 2026

The Whitney Marsh Foundation is proud to announce a new milestone in its mission to support Arkansas families facing pancreatic and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.
After a year of collaboration and planning with MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the world's leading institutions for pancreatic cancer care, the Foundation is launching a dedicated fund for Arkansas GI cancer patients receiving treatment at MD Anderson, beginning in 2026.
The Arkansas Patient Fund
The Whitney Marsh Foundation Arkansas Patient Fund will help cover the non-medical costs that too often create barriers to life-saving care—expenses such as travel, lodging, and meals for patients and families who must travel out of state for specialized treatment.
“Cancer isn't just a medical diagnosis—it impacts every part of a person's life. The financial strain of traveling for care can be overwhelming, and no Arkansan should have to choose between the best treatment and their financial security. At the Whitney Marsh Foundation, no patient is left behind.”
Arkansas First Initiative
Through the Arkansas First Initiative, this fund ensures that patients from across the state can access world-class cancer care at MD Anderson without being limited by geography or income. Arkansas families deserve the right to choose where they are treated—and this initiative helps make that possible.
Help Us Reach Our Goal
To launch this effort, the Whitney Marsh Foundation is seeking to raise another $30,000 by the end of this year. Every dollar will directly support Arkansas patients and families facing the heavy burden of travel-related cancer costs.
Our mission has always been about giving Arkansas patients the best chance to survive and thrive. Your support is what makes that possible—and we're inviting our community to help us reach this $30,000 goal to open the fund strong in 2026.
For Patients
For patients wanting information about the Arkansas Patient Fund, they may talk to their care team at MD Anderson about information regarding patient assistance programs.
